The Entry Requirement & How to Apply
All students in Year 11 are eligible to apply. It is anticipated that some, but not all, will have studied a Performance subject at Key Stage 4. However, this is by no means a condition of entry. Enthusiasm, genuine interest, energy and a willingness to work with others to a common goal are essentials.
You can express your interest in studying at The SPACE by completing an application form which secures your place at the Entry Workshop. You may use this experience to decide whether or not you would like to be part of The SPACE Company.
Application forms should be submitted by the end of January (for admission in September of the same year).

On completion of an application form students will be sent an invitation to the two-day Entry Workshop. The invitation will include a reply slip which needs to be returned confirming attendance at the Entry Workshop along with a passport-sized photograph and an indication of current Performing Arts interests (if applicable).

This is a two-day experience, following your application, which allows us to see if you are right for The SPACE - and for you to see if it is right for you!

Just as in the course itself, you are able to have a taste of different performance disciplines, such as acting, dance, song and technical theatre, in our “Taster Workshops” before choosing one area to specialise in, where you are most comfortable, in our “Choice Workshops” on the second day.

Everyone who attends will have the chance to meet other applicants, current company members, as well as the teaching team, in order to ask questions about what the course and life at The SPACE is like. The two days culminate in a group performance in the auditorium, with lighting, sound and props. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve in two days!

Students will be informed if they have been successful in passing the Entry Workshop by post, before the end of the spring term. This will be a formal offer of a place at The SPACE for September.
